A special heart-warming drink to enjoy when celebrating with your loved ones.
This recipe is from Sebastian Pole’s book Cleanse, Nurture, Restore.
Roses have a long traditional use for supporting the heart, and women’s health especially. Pomegranate fruit also has an affinity with the heart and is revered in many fok traditions as being an aphrodisiac.
3 Pukka LOVE tea bags
150ml of pomegranate juice
Champagne or Prosecco or sparkling water if you’d prefer a mocktail
Rosewater (optional) 1 tsp per glass
Fresh rose petal 1 or 2 per glass
Cover the tea bags with 250ml boiling water and leave to infuse for 30minutes in a covered teapot.
Strain and leave to cool in the fridge for two hours.
When ready to serve, put in a glass 50ml of PUKKA LOVE tea and 50ml of pomegranate juice and top up with bubbles - add the rose water and decorate with rose petals..enjoy with those you love.
Tip for doshas:
Rose is a soothing herb for all three doshas and pomegranate is especially good for cooling and calming pitta dosha. Sparkling drinks can be a little aggravating for vata types - so top up with still water or white wine instead.
