ALIVE TO THIS is a deeply immersive, two and a half hour ceremonial experience exploring mortality, presence and what it means to live fully, facilitated by experienced end-of-life doula, death educator and family-led funerals guide Sherie Sullivan.
Modern life can leave us strangely disconnected from the reality that our time is limited. We put off the conversations, relationships, choices and dreams that matter, often waiting for illness, loss, burnout or some other wake-up call to bring things into focus.
ALIVE TO THIS offers another way.
Drawing directly on Sherie's years of accompanying people and families through end-of-life, participants are gently guided into conscious contact with mortality, creating space to reflect on how they are living, what matters most, and what they may be ready to let go of.
This isn't theoretical or something you simply think about. It is experiential, embodied and felt in real time.
The experience was recently featured in the TVNZ documentary Menopause and Us, with actor Robyn Malcolm, bringing this very different conversation about mortality and living fully to a much wider audience.
It's not really about death. It's about perspective. Death just happens to be the most honest teacher we have.

Sherie Sullivan is an experienced professional end-of-life doula, death educator, home funeral guide, and the creator of ALIVE TO THIS.
For Sherie, death is not a subject to be kept at a safe distance. Through years of accompanying people and families at the end of life, she has seen first-hand what can happen when we stop avoiding mortality and create space to face it honestly. Priorities shift. What matters becomes clearer. There can be less fear, more presence, and often a renewed appreciation for being alive.
Alongside her death work, Sherie brings more than 25 years' experience as a coach, facilitator and leadership practitioner. She combines this with a grounded, compassionate approach to holding conversations and experiences that can take people somewhere meaningful without telling them what they should think, feel or discover.
ALIVE TO THIS grew from this intersection of death work, coaching and a deep curiosity about what becomes possible when we consciously acknowledge that our time is finite.
