Here is what you may need for your home practice:

A quiet space to do it in - take time away for yourself somewhere where you have enough space to stretch out.

A yoga mat would be handy and make it easier if you are doing the yoga classes - but if you don’t have one - no sweat! Fake it till you make it!

You may also need a bolster (or cushion) and a blanket handy.

Turn your phone off - yes you can - you can do it! (unless you are reading this on your phone - in which case - don’t turn it off!)

Now you are ready to dive into some classes……

Here are the classes and forms we have to choose from with more being uploaded as we go….. these classes are not edited - they are raw footage from Willa’s lounge room to yours - sometimes you will see washing, kittycats, the occasional heater, slippers and deffinately warmth of heart.

YOGA NIDRA with Charlotte keirle and russel walder

Curated by Wilhemeena just for you to keep you sane during this crazy time - She enlisted the dreamy voice of Charlotte Keirle to talk us through the most delicious and deeply relaxing Yoga Nidra - with backing track by the Grammy nominated oboist Russel Walder - this is a 26min lye down that will have you feeling so chilled, rested and rejuvenated - well recommended to do ANYTIME (ps not while driving)

Charlotte completed her diploma of yoga science from the academy of yoga science (AYS) in mangrove mountain ashram, Sydney, Australia in December 2018. It took 2 years for her to complete and comprised 1400 hours of study including intensive stays at the ashram and home study. She learnt Asana, Pranayama, Meditation and yoga Nidra. The Diploma of Yoga Science is recognised as a world leader in Classical Yoga Teacher Training – renowned for its depth and authenticity.

It was such an inspiring course that took Charlotte on an extended journey of self-discovery. It involved a process of personal transformation through self-awareness. When she is not teaching you will find her hiking in nature, surfing, snowboarding or making essential oil blends. She loves being healthy and believes that yoga is a way of life rather than being really bendy.

EASY BACKCARE YOGA

I think this might be one of my favourite classes - Kathy says it was like a yoga retreat (at home!) Try it - your back will love you for it. Excellent when you have achy lower back or just need to take it easy.

We are super Lucky to have the wonderous Jock Barnes do this class just for us. What a gem. JOCK is one of the founders of the Gisborne Revive Festival and a wonderful yoga teacher and cacao facilitator.

Core Flow is about tuning into the deep core muscles that are our powerhouses. It is about building strength, but also resilience and letting go of excess tension. And building a sense of connectedness to your inner awareness.

Time to get strong, time to let go, seems like the opposites - but you cant be strong without knowing where and when to let go. It is strong to know when to be easeful and when to exert yourself - its a delicate balance. Here we learn both.

An hour and half Strength and Surrender class that starts on the floor - I love this one! Saturday morning flows are my favourite.

Deep rest yoga designed to calm the nervous system and help unwind tension and stress. Deep healing can occur in these shin yoga practices. Breathe, let go. Let mama earth hold you.

PRANAYAMA 1- BHAMERI (HUMMING BEE BREATH)

Bhrameri is the Humming Bee breath - it helps bring you back to centre, boosts your immune system and regulates your endocrine system (hormonal balance) Amongst other awesome things.

 

ASHTANGA BEGINNERS with Xinia Alderson

This class is class five in the beginners Ashtanga series - please start at class one first and work your way through the series. The complete half primary series. Enjoy discovering the power of the practice, work up to practicing daily for the most benefits and magical insights into yourself.

30 MINS of EASY YOGA with WILLA

In this 30min practice, ease gently into your body, open up the joints and de-stress. Take the time to breathe, connect and realign with yourself.

ASHTANGA BEGINNERS - WITH XINIA ALDERSON

This class is class four in the beginners Ashtanga series but don’t let the word beginners fool you- this is a serious workout not for the faint-hearted - please start at class one first if you havn’t done Astanga before - the videos are below and work your way through the series. In this class we flow through the complete standing series focusing on the breath and open up options for full variations of postures. Continuing to add little by little to the seating postures and adding to the inversions at the end of practice. This class is a big jump from class 3, feel free to practice until you feel comfortable with the flow and positions, and please do child’s pose instead of the jump backs for a while until you build up to doing them (if that feels right to you) otherwise tally ho - enjoy! This can become a daily routine. (PS we advise you rest a wee bit longer then she does in the video!)

A gentle Core Flow, flow that warms up your core and gets you connected to your centre.

HATHA FLOW

Join Willa for an hour of Hatha Flow - deep hip openers - pure deliciousness. PS Sometimes she does wear a different jumper!! But this one seems to be a favourite this month!

SHIN YOGA WITH WILLA

Shin Yoga is a deep relaxing practice that helps to wind down the nervous system and develop a sensitivity to our inner landscape and somatic wellbeing. We use natural movement pathways such as spirals, and undulations to help the fascia and muscles release and the whole system to come back to a balanced whole.

CONTINUUM with Sarah Grace

In this video, Sarah guides us into "Resting Within the 3 Centre’s"  using sound and Continuum Movement as an experiential way to self-regulate, nourish and connect deeply into the tap root of Mother Earth. 

Sarah is a Registered Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist, Authorized Continuum Movement Teacher, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and Conscious Birth Doula.

Half a yoga class with Willa - Saturday 2nd May

Here we go - with a new microphone - so you can actually hear me and a bit more lighting - we are getting a little bit more savvy with our online experience - we would love to have feedback - ALAS - my recording device ran out of space half way through the class - so you will have to talk to yourself for the rest of the class - or join me for another one. Perfection is the death of creativity they say - so here I am practicing imperfection.

ASHTANGA BEGINNERS CLASS THREE

Let's keep building and continuing to shape the practice. We will complete the standing series and start to unfold louts pose, which appears in balancing and seated postures. Shoulder stand is introduced and options continue all the way through practice to keep you safe and steady on your mat.

ASHTANGA BEGINNERS CLASS TWO

This is class two in our beginners Ashtanga series - please do class one a few times first, you will find it below.

We re-visit and start to build on the practice. Moving slowly adding bit-by-bit and keeping the focus on the breath, we start to break down the variations for vinyasas and add on to the seated poses. 

If this class is a challenge practice daily for at least a week before moving to class 3.

HATHA FLOW WITH WILLA

This is a full 1 hour and half Hatha Flow class - recorded from Zoom on live stream on 18th April 2020. Mostly floor work here, not a standing pose in sight - beginning with some core work on the floor we dive into some delishous forward folds and spirals and end with a long and lushous nidra relaxation.

WATER FORMS - ELEMENTAL ALCHEMY - QI GONG

Living and breathing the Elemental Alchemy Water forms. 3 versions of the Kidney forms, the organ for the element of Water. Helps to nourish the kidneys and release any overload on the adrenals. Helps clear fear and anxiety and be more fluid and easeful with change.

 

Start the journey of Ashtanga Yoga with Xinia Alderson

This is class one in a series of five beginners Ashtanga classes. It introduces the standing poses of the primary series and is laid out with focus on the breath. We recommend you do this same class more than once, especially if you are an absolute beginner.

WEI CHI with WILHEMEENA -ELEMENTAL ALCHEMY - IMMUNE BOOSTING CHI KUNG (QI GONG)
